“Sometimes it comes from someone else’s hunger.”
Before leaving, she added one last thing:
“Never let anyone place something around your neck that you didn’t choose.”
Today, I’m still in Mexico City.
I still work.
I still ride crowded buses.
But I am no longer the woman who accepted less just to avoid being alone.
I changed everything.
And I learned one truth I wish more women knew sooner:
Danger doesn’t always arrive loudly.
Sometimes it comes wrapped in something beautiful…
smiling…
and calling itself love.
